It is a stunning tourist destination, located in Uttarkhand state of India. It is popularly titled as ‘Devbhumi’ which means ‘Land of Gods’. It is an important sacred pilgrimage center for Hindus. It is flocked by countless of devotees mainly due to its religious heritage. The entire region is blessed with alluring charms and marvelous nature landscapes. There are plenty of temples in Uttarkashi. Lord Viswanath temple is among the famous and largest temple in the region and it is the most renowned and frequented one as well. There are many other smaller temples which are dedicated to mainly Durga and Hanuman. Other deities are Annapurna, Lakheshwar, Parashuram and many more. The famous picnic spot is Nehru mountaineering institute. Other nearby places are Gangani, Gangotri and Yamunotri.

It is a famous and largest temple of Uttarkashi, devoted to Lord Shiva. The Shivlingh of this temple is measuring 90 cm wide and 60 cm in height. It is one of the most renowned and frequented as well.

These are located opposite to Gangotri Glacier and it offers an excellent view of shivling peaks. It is perfect place for camping.

Dayara Bugyal, Hari Ki Doon and Kedar Tal are other popular tourist destinations.

The well connected railway station to reach Uttarkashi is Haridwar. It is well served by trains to major cities of India.

There are plenty of buses available to reach Uttarkashi from Dehradhun, Haridwar, Mussoorie and Rishikesh.
