Barkot

Yamunotri Temple
It is a dominating feature in Barkot. It was built by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. It is the original source of Yamuna River and holds high religious value. This sacred temple is at an elevation of 3235 meters above the sea level.
Surya Kund
It is one of the natura hot springs with the temperature of 1900F. Devotees and visitors cook their rice by simply immersing the rice into this water. The cooked rice is served as Prasad.
Hanuman Chatti
It is the popular point of trekking. It is around 13 km from Yamunotri. The distance must be covered by foot. It is the place of confluence of River Yamuna and Hanuman Ganga.
