Kinnaur

Kinnaur is beautiful and one of the well-known escapade tourist spot of Himachal Pradesh. This place seems to look like a roof beneath the sky making a scenic beauty. It has the river Sutlej that courses through the elevated mountains and provides breathless escapade sports like white river rafting, fishing, angling and other water sports entertainments. Tourists can delight sightseeing, trekking and camping in Sangla Valley and Hangrang Valley. The three of world�s sterling mountain chains present in the Kinnaur includes the Zanskar, the Greater Himalayas, and the Dhauladhar. Another interesting place too be seen in Kinnaur is the famous Kinner Kailash mountain, in which a rock formation that resembles a Shivalinga and interchanges colour as the day blows over. People from all around the world visits Kinnaur to enjoy the adventurous trekking experience.  

PLACES TO VISIT

Rampur
It is situated at 131km from Shimla district on the riverside of Sutlej River. This is the central point from which begins the tour of Kinnaur.

Nichar
It is located at 50 km from Rampur. This is a charming and tranquil perching place among the dense woods acknowledged for wild life. Also a well-known famous temple with its beautiful sculptures is most visited by tourists.

Sangla Valley
This place is called as Kinnaurs most glorious inclined valley. It has pillar like fort and a temple consisting the statue of Kamakhya Devi.

 Pooh
It is also called a Spuwa and is located at 58km from Powari. This little town is famously known for its natural glory, green fields and apricot trees.

Nako
It is a beautiful lake environed by willow and polar trees. It has a small village on the bank of Nako and it looks like half buried by the lakes boundary lines.

The nearest domestic airport is situated in the hill town of Shimla at a distance of 130km. The international airport is at 342km in Delhi.

BY TRAIN
The nearest railhead is at Shimla at 244km from Kinnaur.

BY ROAD
Buses to Kinnaur are available from at 244km and Rampur at 131km.

WHEN TO VISIT

The best season to visit the Kinnaur district is from April to October.
