Kapilavastu was the birthplace of Gautam Buddha. The city has an abundant collection of washed away stupas and monasteries. This place is considered to have religious importance for the followers of Buddha. Not only does this place hold religious significance, but is also an ideal site for trekkers. During the winter season, the land is ornamented with various crops, irrigation channels, ponds, streams, etc. giving it a completely different aura.
