The district of Basti has been ruled over by numerous
dynasties over the years. This small town is semi urbanized and full of mango
orchards and bamboo forests. The area is full of vegetation.
Places to see:
Pakke bazaar: It
is the major market place of this town. It consists of shops, most of which are
established over a long time. The place lacks proper parking space and is
relatively unclean.
Ahmuth pull: This
Bridge is built over the River Kuwano. It was built during the British rule in
India. It connects Basti to Ayodhya, Faizabad and Lucknow. The place provides a
serene environment but lacks maintenance.
Chawni Bazaar: It
is famous for its brutal act where 250 Indians were hanged till death on the papal
trees.
Chando Tal: Legend
is that this used to be a settlement before it degraded into a lake. The local
people still find ornaments from that time in this place.
Sant Ravi Das Van
Vihar: This place is a picnic spot with a lake and children’s park.
Bhadeshwar temple: This
place has a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which is believed to be built by
Ravan.
Barah temple: This
temple is located in the village of Barah and is dedicated to Lord Shiva.
Apart from these attractions, the district also contains
several villages.

well connected to places within the state by train.
