The famous well reputed temple in Kerala. The main deity is Lord Vishnu. It is maintained by rayal family of Trivancore and popular holy abode among 108 sacred shrines of Lord Vishnu. The residing deity is enshrined in a reclined pose on a holy serpent Anantha. Godess Sridevi and Bhudevi are at either sides of Lord Vishnu. The idol is made by 12000 saligramams from River Gandaki and is covered by an ayurvedic mix called Katusarkara yogam. It keeps the deity out of dust and rust. Recently, the valuble assets of this temple are revealed which is estimated around 90,000 crores.

It ages more than 400 years, was the seat of Trivancore Kingdom. It is just inside Tamilnadu, 65 km south-east of Trivandrum. Palace closed on Mondays. 

Tranquil beach resort 'Varkala'  which can be enjoyed by families and couples. Varkala beach town, 800 years old Janadhana temple dedicated to lord Hanuman and Ayyapan are the hearts of this resort. One of the hidden jewel is 'Edaya beach' unexplored by tourists, remains incredible.

 

It is beautiful hill station, situated 60 km from Kovalam. The pristine mountains and beautiful landscapes are real carnivals to tourists. The region is covered by tea plantations and makes it green all over. Mountaineering in the Ponmudi mountains assures rejoicing birds eye view of surrounding scenic beauty. Charming deer park, abundantly grown Orchids are the other surprises of Ponmudi. Kaudiar palace, Napier Museum are other known tourist spots.

It is located 32 km away from Trivandrum, a popular picnic spot with lake and picturesque dam site. It holds star attraction for its Lion safari.  It affords panoramic views of mountains and lake, boating, mountaineering, lake garden, miniature of wild life sanctuary and swimming pools are star features of Neyyar dam

The unique internationally renowned Kovalam is amongst the loveliest beach and favorite haunt of tourists. The beach is located on Arabian sea extending its coastline around 17 km lying between north latitudes  8°18' and 12°48'.  The astonishing crescent shape is formed by rocky outcroppings which separates the coastline into 3 adorable beaches, namely Light house, Hawah and Samudra. Coconut tress are lined all over the crescent shape and makes it tranquilizing site. Light house beach is most popular and largest stretch marked by 30 meter high Vizhinjam light house, built on rocky promontory. It is extremely famous for low tidal waves and shallow water spreading for hundreds of meters are ideal for swimming. Hawah beach otherwise known as Eve's beach is famous for its unique aquarelle  by blue bay water and calm stretches of sandy shores. Tourism department provides vigilant life guard service on both Lighthouse and Hawah beach.  Samudra beach. Also called as Main beach/Leela beach is the local trading part for fishermen. Local tourist thronging is more on weekends. Fishing vessels, ships on horizon are scenic jewels of Samudra beach which is northern most and  a part of Ashoka beach.

Sri Chitra art gallery, Zoological park, Poovar island, Chaa Bazaar, Happy land water theme park, Shangumugham beach, Kulathupuzha temple, Kuthirmalika palace, Paripally Gajamela, Koyyikal palace, Beema palli mahotsavam, Aruvipuram, Akkulam lake and Aaranmula are other popular places in Trivandrum.

Trivandrum international airport is best option for those who reach by air. It is located around 10 km from the city center.

Trivandrum railway station is the major railway junction of Kerala.

Well maintained motorable roads are ease the road transportation by state and private run buses.
