                                                   RATNAGIRI
Fresh air, unspoiled natural beauty, breathtaking panoramic views and lush greeneries make Ratnagiri one of the most popular places in Maharashtra. Located on the shores of the Arabian, Ratnagiri was once the administrative capital of the Bijapur rulers.
Ratnagiri is greatly blessed with lofty peaks, long stretch of pristine seashore, fantastic valleys, gallant forts, quick rivers and meandering waterfalls. Bestowed upon with majestic white sand coastline splattered with palm groves shades and mango plantations, Ratnagiri blows one off the feet with the shear amount of variations the beauty offers.
Many freedom fighters who gave up their life in the freedom struggle had their birth here.
Swayam Bhu Ganapathi temple, Ganapathi pule beach, Ratnadurg fort and Gateway of Ratnagiri are some of the prominent attractions.
Blessed with a spectacular rocky terrain and natural splendour, Ratnagiri’s breath-taking beauty makes it a prominent place in the tourism sector. A visit to this pulsating place should definitely be on your agenda.

                                                   PLACES TO SEE

Ratnadurg fort : The elegant fort built in the area of 120 acres is flanked by the waters of the Arabian on three sides. Constructed in horse shoe shape this fort now in ruins was perfectly placed in between the hills. The fort offer stunning view of the rising and setting of the sun and marvellous view of the sea. The light house in the fort is also one of the major attractions.

Ganapathi pule beach : This beach which is about 25 km from Ratnagiri is famous for its clean and unpolluted waters. The white sand adds charm to the beauty of the lake. However swimming in this water is not advisable as the underlying rocks in the water hinder the process. Local Marathi savouries can be relished at the food stalls in the beach.

Thibaw palace : It is the place where the King and Queen from Burma had their refuge shelter.  This palace offers spectacular view of the sunset and the Arabian Sea.
