PIMPRI – CHINCHWAD
Pimpri-Chinchwad, the twin towns are about 19kms from Pune. Located at a height of 530 feet above the sea level it has temperate climate throughout the year. Being one of the Asia’s wealthiest municipal corporations, it is a fantastic tourist destination filled with culture, heritage and history. The old world charm of the Marathas and the Peshwas can be felt here.
Chinchwad gets its name from Chinch (tamarind) and wad (banyan) trees. About 2000 years ago this place was ruled by Bhoja Raja. His then capital Bhojapur is now called the Bhosari. Bhosari is the headquarters of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).
Bhakti Shakti, Saint Morya Gosavi's Shrine, Durga Devi Hill Park, Vaishnav Devi Temple, Ganesh Temple etc are the famous attractions.
Ganesh Chaturthi and Dasara are the main festivals. This place captivates the people with its rich scenic beauty and culture.

By Rail : Chinchwad Railway Station and Pimpri Railway Station are the major stations. It has trains to Pune.
By Bus : It is well connected to Pune by bus.
