PARAGANAS

 Paraganas , a spectacular wonderland of West Bengal is segregated as North and South Paraganas. Kudos to the nature there which pampers the minds of the visitors with the most beautiful and soothing ambience. 

 

 South Paraganas made fertile with holy waters of the River Ganga is congregated with a long list of attractions. Sunderbans forest with eye catching juicy mango groves spreads its boundary to the neighboring country of Bangladesh as well. It is a biggest tiger reserve and is declared as a heritage site by UNESCO. A ferry ride in the salt watered river is one of the best cruises to enjoy a peaceful vacation, catch a glimpse of the wildlife and encompassing greenery as you sail. Chances of spotting a tiger is very less but the water is abundantly crowded  with marsh crocodiles. Avifauna such as Grey-headed eagle, Kingfishers, Swamp Partridges, Mynas and other varieties treats the wildlife photographers. Bakkhali is a tranquil beach with sandy coastline, pristine shores and less crowded environ plays a perfect host for peace lovers. Sagardwip is an important pilgrimage centre for the Hindus. Diamond Harbour and Kakdwip are also mentionable places. 

 

 Barrackpore located in North Paragana is an ancient city located by the side of Hooghly River. Attracted by its serene beauty, British chose this place to have a comfortable accommodation prior Indian independence. Parmadan Deer Park, Barasat and Bidhan Nagar are the popular places of North Paragana.
