Arunachal Pradesh is a heavenly abode of North-East which is blessed with thick dense forests with abundant animal population, Namdhapa is one such vacation destinations with swollen vegetation and sky touching trees which filter out the sunlight abandoning it from reaching the ground.
Covering a core area of about 1985 sq.km the land is beautified by several small bubbling brooks and is fortified by Patkai and Mishmi ranges. Lisu tribal group form the major dwelling folk in the vicinity of the sanctuary.
Compactly hemmed lush greenery makes it a perfect animal kingdom. Leopards, tigers and snow leopards are the commonly found big cats. Carnivores such as Black bear, wolves, red panda etc are present. Plant eating species include elephants, musk deer, sambar, gaur etc. The place is equally blessed with colorful avian flock as well. Himalayan Wood owl, Eurasian Hobby and Amur Falcon are the important ones. Lucky ones can also spot a rare species named Snowythroated Blabber.
Guided trekking routes and forest camps are also organized by the forest department. A special permission must be obtained by the forest department before making a grand entry to this nature’s valuable gift.
