One of the most significant business centers in the entire North India, Moradabad is a city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. In the entire Asia, Moradabad is the biggest manufacturer of Copper and its alloys. It is also considered to be the one of the top five centers in the whole world to export copper items. The title of ‘Peetal Nagari’ or ‘Copper Town’ is given to Moradabad. 

The name of the city has been derived from the name of the Prince Murad Bux. He was Emperor Shah Jahan’s youngest son. The name of Moradabad was returned to it from Rustom Nagar during the time period of 17th century. 

During the current years, one can witness the rapid rise in the construction works. The state of Uttar Pradesh is at present the biggest Brassware seat in the entire India.

Moradabad contains several manufacturing centers, which produces copper and brass. This place is famous for a wide assortment of items such as utensils and many decorative products. The ritual-wares makes up most of the portion of the utensil’s category such as the Lotas, Tamrapatra, Panchapatra, Simhasan and Kanchanthal, which stand for water pots, ritual plate, seat for gods and goddesses and flower plate respectively. 

The art metal work has made Moradabad to be noticed globally. The custom of producing such artworks has been initiated during the time of the Mughal. The colored enameling and the fine carvings are the most popular noted items of Moradabad. Other items include miniatures, busts, decorative pieces, statues, utensils and cutlery. Intense embroideries are seen on these wares. These embroideries are considered to be most excellent all over the globe considering its wide variety of patterns and designs.

By Air: The nearest airport is located in Delhi, which is set at a distance of 160 Kms from Moradabad. 
By Rail: Moradabad has got its own railway station. It is connected to other major locations in the country via this railway station. 
By Road: One can reach this place via state run buses, private buses, taxis and private cars.
