Kashipur
Kashipur is a famous industrial area in Uttarkhand and one of the major districts of Udham Singh Nagar. The region was previously known as Govisham when Yuan Chwang visited the place. The present name of this town is coined from one of the officers in Chand Dynasty Kashiath Adikari. There are several temples whchare dedicated to mainly Shiva. There are also many other deities worshipped here. Kashipur is devoted to Maa Mansha Devi and it is associated with Teerth Drona Sagar. It is one of the most sacred places after Gangotri, Yamunotri, Kedarnath and Badrinath. There is a famous pond here which is completely surrounded by around 32 temples. Kashipur is a sacred religious spot and visited by countlessof visitors and devotees throughout the year.
