YINGKIONG

 

 Yingkiong is a fantastic scenic destination which attracts lot of travelers with its alluring charm. The area populated by many tribes has different traditional practices and culture. Located in Upper Siang district it is bounded by valleys, rivers and other wonders of nature. 

 

 The region is mainly populated by Christians. Divine Mercy church is held in a respectable position by the Catholics. The St. Mary feast which is held annually is attended by huge crowd. Mouling National park encompassing 500 sq.km area hemmed with exuberant vegetation is a charming paradise which helps to get a full view of the wildlife and wild plants at its best. Nirbung and Dubung waterfalls located inside the national park give an out of the world feel to the onlookers with its glittering waters.  Deer, tiger, panther, elephant, sambar deer and variety of colorful birds are some of the proud dwellers of the forest.  

 

 Bunch of adventure activities such as fishing, rafting and swimming in the shining waters of River Siang makes Yingkiong one of the prominent tourist strong hold. Hanging bridge constructed with bamboo and ropes forms top attraction. Lohsar, Khamba and Reh are the popular festivals.

By Air : Domestic airport is located at 290 kms, Dirubhgarh, Assam. Guwahati has international airport.

By Train : Dirubhgarh has a convenient  railway station.

By Road : It is connected to many places in Assam.
