TADOBA
Tadoba is one of the oldest national parks which is located at about 45kms from Chandrapur. The name ‘Tadoba’ is derived from the name of the local tribal god ‘Taru’. This famous tiger reserve mesmerizes the tourists with its lush green belt and huge collection of wildlife.
This reserve is estimated to have about 50 tigers. Apart from tigers it also houses Indian wild dog, sloth bear, hyena, wild boar, spotted deer, barking deer, blue bull, four-horned antelope, Indian pangolin and porcupine. Lucky ones can spot leopards, gaurs, nilgais, sambars and chitals in the night safari. This forest is also a home of about 190 variety of avian flock as well.
This beautiful reserve is flocked with teak and bamboo trees. Civet, The Palm Civet, the Rattle, The flying squirrel can be spotted at dusk. Crocodiles can be seen as well. Closer view of the animals can be enjoyed in the safari ride.
This place is strongly recommended for those interested in the wildlife. It is advised to take binoculars and cameras during the visit.

By Air: Nagpur which is about 210 kms from Tadoba has the nearest airport.
By Rail: The nearest railway station is Chandrapur (45 kms)
By Bus: Chandrapur (45 kms) and Chimur (32 kms) from Tadoba consists of main bus stands.
