Sabarkantha
 
 City sprawling with culture and heritage, Sabarkantha located in northern part of Gujarat experiences extreme climatic conditions. Dairying and agriculture are the prime stomach fillers for the people here.
 
 Sabarkantha also has some important and interesting places to go around. The district headquarters Himmath Nagar is a home to historically important places. Dawlat Vilas palace and Himmat Singh fort flaunt the true flavor of the kingly grandeur. Jalaram temple, Harshidmata temple, Mahakali temple are the main shrines. Food freaks can feast on Doodhpak, Vedhmi, pani puri and dal baati.
 
 About 30 kms from Himmath Nagar is an ancient city named Idar, which is famous for its massive hill fort. Presence of huge black boulders close by provides natural protection. It is unusual to locate Lord Bhrama temple in any part of our country, but the uniqueness of Khedbhrama is, it houses the Bhrama temple which is estimated to be built in 11th century.
 
 Shamlaji temple is a pleasant 11th century shrine which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The temple is located in majestic ambience with lofty hills and Shyam Sarovar in the background.  Real diamond studs adorn the idol of the Lord. The pilgrims visit this place mainly to experience calmness and tranquility in a natural setting. Poshina and Vijaynagar are the prominent places which are worth for a day’s trip.

By Air : Ahmedabad is about 80kms from Sabarkantha. It has Sardar Vallabhai Patel Airport.

By Road : Important places like Baroda, Surat, Ahmedabad and Mumbai can be reached through NH 8 which passes through this place.

By Train : Passing trains connect to many cities.
