DAHOD

PLACES TO SEE
Aurangzeb Fort : Aurangzeb fort, the fort with glorious majesticity was constructed to mark the birth of the great Emperor Aurangzeb here. This fort was constructed in the 16th century as a resting place for guests and voyagers. The rulers used to offer their daily prayers to god Allah in the masjid located inside the fort.
Najmi Masjid : This is the biggest and the loftiest mosque of the Dawoodi Bohra sect. This masjid was launched by Dr. Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin Saheb in the year 2002.
Desaiwada Mandir : Desaiwada Mandir is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Krishna and was constructed about 100 years ago. The temple hosts ‘Breaking the Pot’ competition every year on the account of Krishna Janmashtami.
Shiva Temple : This temple located within the city is greatly renowned as an ancient religious centre for the Hindus. This Shiva temple was constructed in about 12th century. Many ancient inscriptions and carvings can be witnessed within the temple.
Chhab Talav : Chhab Talav with its illuminating waters has emerged as a good tourist destination. Many families come to this lake and spend some time in tranquillity. Food stalls with different variety of eateries fills up your hungry belly.
Dahod Fair: Right in the heart of the city of Dahod, every week the Dahod fair is hosted. On every Wednesday it is held. Mainly the residents of Dahod come here to visit the fair. Items related to the traditions and customs of Gujarat are bought by the tourists. The prices of the items found here are quite low. The small hawkers sell different items like handicrafts, plastic wares and household items. These hawkers mainly come from the tribal region located nearby. Different types of herbs, fruits, and tribal jewelry made up of a mixture of silver and lead are sold by the tribal people.

By Rail : The city is best connected by train. The important places connected to Dahod by train are Amritsar Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Bhopal, Ahmedabad, Bombay, Delhi etc.
