Chaukori
The town of Chaukori is one of the popular tourist destination and renowned pilgrim center of Uttarkhand. It is perfect place for sightseeing and it offers am exotic views of Himalayan peaks and various mountain ranges. It is a fantastic hill station and an ideal place for peaceful and slow paced vacation. A leisure walk through the splendorous tea garden is an exciting experience for visitors. As a pilgrim center, it houses several temples. The Mahakali temple in Gangolihat is the most famous shrine which attracts numerous devotees throughout the year. Patal Bhuvaneshwar temple is another highlighting feature of Chaukori. This is a cave temple. Visitors have to crawl into cave to see the idol of chief deity. Other famous temples are Kot Gari Devi temple, the Ulkadevi Temple, the Mostamanu Temple, the Kamaksha Temple and the Arjuneshwar Shiva temple.
Places to visit
Arjuneshwara Shiva Temple
It is an ancient temple, believed to be built by Arjuna. It is at the top of a hill around 6000 feet above the sea level. Lord Shiva is the chief deity.
Ulka Devi Temple
T is near to tourist rest house and located beside the memorial built of matyrs. Visitors can enjoy the view of Soar valley from this temple.
Other Places
Maha kali temple of Gangolihat, Patal Bhuvaneshwar, Nagmandir of Berinag, Ghunsera devi temple, Nakuleshwar temple and Mostamanu are other well-known places.

By Train
Kathagodam railhead is the nearest railway station.
By Road
There are numbers of buses available to reach Cahukori from nearby towns of Uttarakhand.
Weather
In summer 20 – 25 C and in winter 2 to 15 C and it is best visited between March to June and Septemer to November.
