Vindhyachal
The distance between this famous religious place named Vindhyachal, located in the district of Mirzapur of the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, and Varanasi is 70 Kms. Vindhyachal famous has been devoted to the Goddess named Vindhyavasini. This is a renowned place for pilgrimage and it is situated on the bed of the River Ganga. It is believed that the Goddess Vindhyavasini grants immediate blessings.
Close to this place, one can see numerous temples dedicated to other gods and goddesses. Some of the main temples among them are the Ashtabhuji Devi Temple and the Kalikhoh Temple. As per many mythological stories, this place is considered to be the dwelling place of the Goddess named Durga. References of this city of Vindhyachal as Pampapur can be found in the Puranas. During the reign of Aurangzeb, uncountable numbers of temple have been destructed and demolished here.

PLACES TO VISIT
Vindhyavasini Devi Temple: On the bed of the River Ganges, the renowned temple of Vindhyavasini Devi is located. It is considered to be a renowned Goddess Kali’s Shakti Peeth. Kajala Devi is the name by which the statue of Goddess Kali is known. This temple hosts very good celebrations in the occasion of Navaratri, during the months of April and October. In the month of June, the temple hosts a yearly contest known as ‘Kajali’.
There are two numbers of temples in Triloka Parikramam, which is a component of the temple. The distance between this structure and the Kalikhoh is a mere 3 Kms. The structure is considered to be an archaic temple dedicated to the Goddess Kali.
Ashtabhuji Devi Temple: Much historical importance is contained by this Ashtabhuji Devi Temple, which is situated on the summit of the mountain range named the Vindhya. Ashtabhuji Devi is the resident Goddess of the temple. She is believed to be the embodiment of Goddess Parvati. The distance between this temple and the Vindhyavasini Devi Temple is a mere 3 Kms.
Rameshwar Mahadev Temple: The distance between Mirzapur and this temple of Rameshwar Mahadev is a mere 8 Kms. The temple is said to house a shivalinga, which is believed to be established by Lord Rama.
Sita Kund: This location known as the Sita Kund has got links to the famous Lord Ram, Sita and Laxman. It is believed that the ground being hit by an arrow, which was shot by Laxman, a spring of water came out of the round. Sita Kund is a water tank, whose source of water is perennial. As many as 48 numbers of stairs are to be traversed in order to reach the tank. A temple dedicated to Durga Devi is located nearby.
Kalikhoh Temple: Situated in the mountain range named Vindhya, the temple called Kalikhoh is located. The temple is a renowned Maha Kali Temple. The temple houses a statue of Goddess Kali. Little rivulets, sparkling steams and dense forests encircle the temple.

By air: The closest air terminal is the Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport in Varanasi, which is located at a distance of 51 Kms from Vindhyachal.
By rail: Vindhyachal has got its very own railway station.
By road: Vindhyachal can be reached by means of state run buses, private buses, taxis and private cars.
