Sant Ravidas Nagar is a district in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters are situated at the city of Gyanpur. River Ganga forms the southwest border of the district. Varuna and Morva are the other rivers that flow through the district. The district touches Jaunpur on the north, Varanasi on the east, Mirzapur on the south and Allahabad on the west.
Sant Ravidas Nagar History
On June 30, 1994, the district was created. The district is well known for its carpets. It is smallest district of the state in terms of area. Bhadohi was its old name. Mayawati government changed this district's name from Bhadohi to Sant Ravidas Nagar. Before its formation, it formed part of Varanasi.
