 Breath of fresh air, serene atmosphere, ignorance to all your worries – such is the virtue of Tarkarli beach, located in Tarkarli, a spectacular coastal city of Maharashtra. It leaves the onlookers speechless with its crystal clear waters. This fabulous ‘Queen Beach’ proudly shows off the 20 feet deep sea bed on a bright sunny day.  

 Located about 545 kms away from the bustling Mumbai, it is situated at the confluence of the Arabian sea and Karli river. The cool ambience and elegant sailing boats add glamour to the beauty of this stunning beach. In the recent past MTDC has built beautiful small cottages on the shore inorder to make the stay of the visitors more exiting and memorable. The two house boats Hiranyakeshi and Karli equipped with all modern amenities offer a luxurious stay for the tourists. 

 Tarkarli is a heaven for  adventure lovers as it offers the tourists to enjoy scuba diving and snorkelling.  People can have a thrilling experience in watching the marine animals and variety of colourful fishes. Sindhudurg and Padmadurg forts are also prominent attractions. Last but not the least this charming place is also popular for its mouth watering delicacies. ‘kombadi-vada’, a dish prepared from fish tastes ultimate. 

 'Anganewadi and Bramhan Dev Jatra' are the famous local festivals. Shopping sprees can enjoy buying cashew nuts, beetle nuts, Kokum powder , Amla juice and sea food available in the market.  Tarkarli is a peaceful destination which is frequented by a lot of travellers throughout the year, the town of Tarkarli is a tourist stronghold. It is best visited between October to May.

Tarkarli Beach : This pristine beach with clear waters is best suited to enjoy a long walk with loved ones. This beach with white sand is so clean that one can see the sea bed clearly even after getting out of the water. It is a common sight to see turtles laying their eggs on the seashore. 

Kolamb beach : This beach blessed with cool ambience is a heaven for solitude lovers. This beach is sparsely populated and one longing to spend the holiday peacefully should pay a visit here. 

Shree ShivChattrapathi Temple : This beautiful temple was built by Rajaram in memory of his great father Shivaji Maharaj. 

By Air : Dabolim in Goa is the nearest airport. 

By Rail: On konkan Railway Kudal which is about 45kms is the nearest station. 

By Road: Government buses ply from Mumbai, Kolhapur, Pune to the main place Malvan and from Malvan to Tarkarli private buses can be availed. Rickshaws are also available form Malvan.
