Nellore
Nellore is a one of the beautiful and famous city of Andra Pradesh, located very close to majestic city Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is southern part of Andra Pradesh around 450 km from Hyderabad. Nellore is previously known as 'Vikrama Simhapuri' picturesquely located on the north bank of river Penna. It is a city of cultural importance and well known for cultivation of paddy, from which the city name is derived. Nellur stands for 'Town of Paddy'. It holds the fame by the veteran Telugu poet Tikkana Somayaji lived here. He is the one who translated great epic Ramayana into Telugu. Green lush vegetation keeps Nellore far from turmoils of city. Serene atmosphere, tranquil region are enhanced further by spiritual aura of temples made this town to stand unique.

Ranganatha Temple
A world famous ancient temple, proudly located on the banks of Penna river, built arounf 12th century. It has strong influences of great dynasties of Pallava, Pandya and Chola. It is dedicated to Lord vishnu, and considered 'Sri Rangam' of Andra Pradesh. 5000 years old architectural values reflects in 29 meter high Galigopuram adorned with seven gold kalasam. The walls of the temple chamber is astonishingly decorated with high-defined mirrors arranged in a fine angles which only reflects the ornate seat of deity. Radha Yatra, a chariot festival is one of the popular and grandly celebrated carnival. Tourism of Andra Pradesh will not complete without adding this temple.

Krishna Mandir- a huge shrine dedicated to Lord Krishna, Sangam – One of the scenic picnic spot located at the confluence of Penneru, Boggeru and Beeraperu rivers. An ancient Chola temple with 150 cm tall Nandi statue and kanigiri reservoir are the prime attractions of Sangam. Penchalakona temple – a beautiful spot to beat the heat, located 8 km from Nellore on a hill of panchakona valley. Aprat from there are many more places to see in and around nellore. Some most visited places are Jonnawada, Pulicat lake, Udayagiri, venkatagiri fort and Nellapatu bird sanctuary.
Beaches are the another prominent feature of Nellore. Kothapatnam beach, Maipadu beach, Mutukuru beach, Thupilipalyem beach are the popular beaches to hang on. One can visit Kandeleru dam and Somasila dam in nellore. A great picnic spot filled with variety of amusements.
