MASHOBRA
 
 With calm surroundings, serene environ and isolation, Mashobra is an excellent archway for people to come in relax and get refrained from the stressed city life. Picturesque hilly resort backdropped with long chain of snow capped peaks boasts of an invigorating ambience.  This place experiencing pleasant weather in summer and ice-chilling cold in winter is slowly gaining momentum as a tourist destination. 
 
 This wacky trekking destination flourished by the holy water of Ganges and Indus was discovered by Lord Dalhousie in the 18th century. What more the tourists want other than majestic carnival of the sky-touching pine trees and lush canopy of fruit orchards to call Mashobra as a heavenly abode.
 
 There are many other places that worth the visit. Craignano is a sprawling place which houses an Italian style wooden cottage that showcase the architectural grandeur of the by-gone era.  Windflower Hall, the former dwelling abode of Lord Ripon and Lord Kitchener has now been taken over by the Oberoi group of hotels. Reserve forest which is the home to animals such as Kakkar, Jackal, leopard, baboon and also some of the birds like patridge, pheasant and Himalayan eagle can be seen here. Kufri about 12kms is popular for skiing activities.

Mahasu Devta Temple :  Mahasu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is popular for its Mahasu Jatara which is held in the month of May. People from various villages come together sing, dance and celebrate the jatara with utmost enthusiasm.

Durga Devi temple is also a notable shrine in the Mashobra vicinity.
