It is a town located in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. It is at a distance of 190 km from Jaipur. It is renowned for forts and Havelis. The city was established in 8th century and was ruled by many emperors. The famous Havelis are Hanuman Prasad Goenka Haveli, Goenka Double Haveli, Murmuria Haveli, Jhunjhunwala Haveli, Mohan Lal Saraf Haveli and Gulab Rai Ladia Haveli. The city is also referred as Open Art Gallery. Madawa fort is another major tourist attraction. The fort is located in the midst of the town. It was built during 18th century. The entire fort was decorated with amazing mural and fresco paintings. The carvings and mirror works are awesome features of Mandawa Fort.
