Jhalawar is a scenic location in the state of Rajasthan. Commonly the place is known as Brijnagar. Visitors can get to see several ancient structures. There is a Lake in the city which is the prime attraction here. At the outskirt of Jhalawar, a palace is situated which is one of the interesting spots to visit. Near to the town, an ancient temple called Chandrawati is located which is most attractive tourist place. During the period of Aurangazeb, the city was ruined. One can find countless of ruins here which indeed worth the visit. There are many temples situated in and around Jhalawar. Sitaleshwar Mahadev Temple is among famous. Other interesting spots are Gagron Fort, Chandrabagha temple, Rein Basera, Jhalawar Fort, Jhalarapatan and Government museum.

It is otherwise called as Garh Palace and was built by Maharaj Rana Madan Singh in 1845 AD. Inside the fort there is Women’s Palace which was decorated with fresco paintings. It is the finest evidence of Hadoti School of Art.

It was built in 1921 by Maharaja Bhawani Singh. It was used to play cultural events and located near the fort. There is an underground construction from which the chariot and horses can appear. This gives an insight of theater art.

Jhalarapatan, Bhimsagar Dam, Chandrabagh Temple, Buddhist Caves and Stupas and Kakuni are some interesting places in Jhalawar.

Kota airport is at a distance of 80 km and considered nearest airport.

The nearest rail head is Ramganj Mandi is around 25 km from center of the town.

The city is well connected to Jaipur, Kota and Bundi by road.

In summer 32 – 45 C and in winter 10 -23 C and It is best visited from October to March.
