JALDHAKA

 

 Perched at an altitude of 1500 feet above the ground, Jaldhaka an enchanting region with unbeatable landscape remains virgin and is rarely visited by humans.  Its primitive wilderness, deep cut valleys and vegetation filled hill slopes captivates the heart. 

 

 The beauty is further attributed by the elegant flow of the Jaldhaka River. Originating in the mighty Himalayas it flows down South Sikkim and then speeds away to Bhutan and finally reaches Bangladesh. Green gorges overlooking the gleaming waters and bird filled cool atmosphere is apt to conduct short treks and bird watching. Champaramari wildlife sanctuary is worth visiting and a stroll in the local market will make you aware of the local culture, tradition and most importantly you can take home the hand- made art and crafts. Paren and Siliguri are the famous tourist villages close by which has good accommodation options. Also a forest resort is located in the Jaldhaka valley.

 Siliguri has an airport, railway station is located at Jalpaiguri and taxis also can be hired from these places to reach Jaldhaka.
