HINGOLI
Hingoli is spread out on the mountain ranges of the Satpuda . Earlier it was under the Nizam’s control. The military base of the Nizam’s was set up here. Hingoli residents were shaken by the two fierce battles fought in 1803 between Maratha King and Tipu Sultan and also between Nagpukar and Bhosale.
Aundha Nagnath is the famous 8th Jyotirlinga temple where Shiva is the main diety. Mallinath Digambar temple is an ancient jain temple is located in the Shirad Shahapur village this temple is about 300 years old and has the statue of Lord Mallinath.
PLACES TO VISIT
Aundha Nagnath : Maharashtra is the home of 5 Jyotirlingas of the 12. This place is considered to be the 8th Jyotirlinga temple where Shiva is the main diety. History says that this temple was built by the eldest Pandava, King Dharmaraj.
This temple is built up in the large area of 60,000 sq ft and is famous for its beautiful carvings. It is built in Hemadpanthi style. Many devotees visit the temple during Shivarathri.
Mallinath Digambar Jain : This ancient jain temple is located in the Shirad Shahapur village this temple is about 300 years old and has the statue of Lord Mallinath.
According to history , Bhattarak shree Premanand got a dream to build the Mallinath temple at Shirad Shahapur village and hence the famous temple was built. This temple is visited by thousands of Jain devotees every year.
Tulaja Devi Sansthan : This ancient temple was built around 120 years ago by Swami Keshavraj. The temple trust which was established in 1967 is providing service to the needy by giving scholarships, setting up health camps etc.
Sant Namdev Sansthan : Between Hingoli and Risod is a small village called Narsi where Saint Namdev was born. Majority of the visitors are from Punjab. In the memory of this Sant, a fair is organised every year. Devotees have decided to construct a temple in his name.

By Air : Nanded is the nearest airport( 80 kms).
By Rail : Parbhani is the largest railway station near Hingoli and has direct trains to Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Hyderabad.
By Road : The state highway connects Hingoli and Nanded, Washim, Pankanergaon
