Beaches

Calangute Beach :
This is the most popular beach with high lingering waves. Swimming in the waters is not advised. Many hotels, restaurants, bars and handicraft shops line up the seashore.

Baga Beach : Is greatly loved by the foreigners as it is more isolated and calmer. Lot of water sports are also conducted here.

Anjuna Beach : This beach is popular for its midnight parties.

Morjim : Morjim beach with placid blue waters is a famous nestling spot for Olive turtles.

Se Cathedral :
This alluring façade is located in old Goa is dedicated to St. Catherine. It has 5 bells of which the golden bell is the popular of them all.

Basilica of Bom Jesus : This Heritage monument constructed in the 16th century preserves the body of St. Francis Xavier.

Datta Mandir : It is a beautiful white marble structure dedicated to Dattatreya Swamy. It is located in a scenic locale and lies about 40 kms from Margao.

Brahma temple : This 5th century temple dedicated to Lord Brahma lies at close distance to Valpoi.

Shree Bhagavathi temple :   This ancient temple believed to be constructed in 16th century is one of the popular and most visited shrines in Goa. Dussera is celebrated with great pomp and glory and witnesses huge visitors.

Forts

Aguada Fort :
This is an ancient fort built by the Portuguese in the 16th century to save Goa from the outsiders. The fort has a natural water spring within and also houses a light house.

Cabo Raj Nivas : The now Governor’s residence was earlier a French monastery. It is constructed on the Mandovi River and lies opposite to Fort Aguada.

Wildlife Sanctuaries

Mollem National Park :
Spreading its lovely colors in the virgin Western ghats forests, the sanctuary covering an area about 240 sq.km is a host to a wide varieties of plants, animals and birds. This place requires an hour drive from Panaji.

Bondla Forest : This place consists of many cottages and is frequented by lot of school going children. There is also a Deer park and botanical garden in its premises.

Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary

There are a lot of water sports like Banana ride, speed boat ride, motor boat ride, river cruise, parasailing water scooters.
 
Casinos, discotheques and casinos amuse the adults.

By Air :
Dabolim airport of Panaji has regular flights to Bangalore, Mumbai and other major
cities. It has a few international flights too.

By Bus : It has regular buses to Bangalore and Mumbai.

By Train : Vasco Da Gama and Margao are the two important railway stations of Goa.
