Kathgodam is the scenic town located in Naintal district of Uttarkhand state in India. It is serves as gateway of several tourist destinations in Uttarkhand. There are many interesting places in and around Kathgodam. It has many beautiful sacred shrines which are countless indeed. Most of the temples are devoted to Goddess Sheetla Devi. Kalichaud attracts several devotees and visitors especially during festival season. On the way of Kathgodam, there is an Ashram called as Harikhan is one of the worth visiting places. One can even find a dam which was built over Gola River. It is an emerging picnic spot in Kathgodam. The entire region is beautifully placed on the foothills of great Himalayas. It offers enormous pristine views of snow-capped peaks of Himalayas and undefined cliffs.It is a picture perfect hill station which assures wonderful refreshment and rejoices.
Places to visit
It is around 7 km from Bhimtal. It is a fabulous lake offers an excellent experience of fishing and boating. It is still unpolluted and unspoiled and serves as homage for several bird species and it is a huge gathering of seven lakes Purna Tal, Panna or Garud Tal, Laxman Tal, Nal-Damyanti Tal, Sukha Tal or Khurdariya Tal, Sita Tal and Ram Tal.
It is the center of attraction which is bigger than Naini lake. There is a small island in the lake which is visited through boat. Along the lake shore, one can find a beautiful Bheemeshwar temple with a Dam of 40 meter height.

The nearest airport is in Pantnagar which is around 71 km from Kathgodam.
Kathgodam has its own railhead and it is one of the major railway junction in Uttarkhand and well served by plenty of trains.
There are plenty of buses available to reach nearby cities of Uttarkhand.
