Jamtara
The district of Jamtara contains the city of Jamtara, which is again the administrative headquarters of the district. It is located in the state called Jharkhand. The name Jamtara has been derived from the two distinct tribal words. One is ‘Jama’, which stands for snake in the Santhali language and the other word is ‘Tar’ stands for settlement or residence. The whole meaning of the two words together means that large numbers of snakes dwelled in this area.
The city of Jamtara is set against a backdrop of spectacularly beautiful nature.
