Dumka

The north-eastern portion of the Indian state of Jharkhand contains the town of Dumka. It is also known as Naga Dumka. This is a big seat for agricultural trade. The status of municipal town has been given to Dumka in the year 1903.

The name of the town has been derived from the beauty of the environment and location. The name of the town has been kept by the Mughal. The name of the town stands for ‘skirt of hills’. Ajoy and Mayurakshi are two rivers flowing through the district. 

                                  PLACES TO VISIT IN DUMKA

Baba Basukinath Dham: This place is located in Deoghar, which is in the district of Dumka of the Indian state of Jharkhand. For the people, who follow Hindu religion, this place is a pilgrim spot. The principal attraction of this place is the temple of Basukinath. 

Baba Sumeshwarnath: A huge temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is present in the Saraiyahat Block. It is a place having religious importance.  

Naag Mandir: At the top of a hill named Shiv Pahar in Dumka, this temple called the Naag Mandir is situated.

Mayurakshi River: The major river of the district of Dumka is the Mayurakshi River.

Masanjore Dam: This is located in the district of Dumka in the Indian state of Jharkhand. This place is renowned for being a famous picnic location. The principal appeal of the place is the Tilpara Barrage, which has been constructed on the river Mayurakshi. Beautiful hills and dense luxurious forests encircle the barrage. Over the river named Mayurakshi, the Masanjore Dam is located. It is a hydro electric power plant. 

Tatloi: The distance between the Dumka district’s headquarters and Tatloi is 15 Kms. It is a hot water spring. This location is set against a spectacular backdrop of beautiful nature and small mountains.

Water Park: One can enjoy a fun day in the Water Park, which can enjoyable activities like boating and water rides.

Malooti: The distance of Mallooti from the district headquarters of Dumka is 55 Kms. It is located in the block called Shikaripara. This place called contains much historical and religious significance. 

Hill Range: This hill range of Dumka is present from Pakur to Godda.
