Dharamsala

Dharamsala is beautiful hill place for a perfect holiday. This place is the centre of Tibetan exile world in our country. It is full of liveliness and peace. The high snow draping ranges of the Himalaya constitute a magnification background to the hill resort of Dharamsala. Triund Hill is one of the major attractions of Dharamsala. It is called as the jewel of Dharamsala. A one day trek can be enjoyed in Triund at the upper ranges of Mcleod Ganj, is about 9km away from McLeodGanj. Dharamsala looks out over the plains and is environed by thick pine trees and Deodar forests.  The close by snowline with number of channels and cool healthy environment make the surroundings very fascinating.The glorious temples and Gompas which represents the culture of Tibet, brings charm and attraction for the tourist.

PLACES TO VISIT

War Memorial
This place is located in the starting of the town. It is ornamented with lawns which fill a pine grove where a monument has been elicited memorialize the post independence war heroes of Himachal Pradesh.

Kotwali
This place is a treasure love of the Kangras arts, craft and ancient artefacts which reminds of the 5th century.  There is also a library situated below this.

Bhagsunag Fall
It is situated at a distance of 11km from Dharamsala town. Bhagsunag Fall is famous for its ancient temple, a clear water spring, water falls and slate quarries. You can enjoy by taking sink in the chill water fall.

Dharamkot
It is located at 14km from Dharamsala town. It is placed on the summit of a hill, this attractive picnic spot offers a top view of the Kangra valley and the Dhauladhar ranges.

Kunal Pathari
It is at 3km from Dharamsala. A short walk from here will tracks to up to the rock temple of the local goddess. Kunal Pathari area welcomes the tourist with refreshing air.

BY AIR
The closest airport is at Gaggal at 14km away.

BY RAIL
Pathankot is the closest broad gauge rail head to Dharamsala. From Pathankot the narrow gauge railway line up to Kangra is at 94km away.

BY ROAD
Direct and frequent bus facilities from Delhi which is 520km away, Chandigarh which is 250km away.

The best time to visit Dharamsala is from January to June and September to December.
