It is so believed that, holy ashes are supposed to be present in the two numbers of stupas, which were found upon carrying out an excavation. These stupas were dedication to Lord Buddha. The town of Vaishali contains two additional well known Buddha Stupas along with the Pillar of Peace and the Ashoka Pillar. 

One eighth part of Lord Buddha’s holy ashes is present in the first of the Buddha Stupa in a box type made of stone; nevertheless, the outer surface of the structure has a smooth façade and remains in rundown state. In the year of 1958, during an excavation, the second Buddha Stupa was found. Similar as the first one, the second Buddha Stupa also contains a stone chest enclosing sacred ashes of Buddha.
