Bhiwani
In the Indian state of Haryana, the city of Bhiwani is located. It is situated close to the That Desert. The Ganga river provides water for the city. King Neem first discovered Bhiwani. In the name of his much loved wife named Bhani, the king named this place. However, with the passing years, the name Bhani came to be known as Bhiyani and then later got converted into Bhiwani. The name ‘Chota Kashi’ has been given to Bhiwani for the presence of numerous temples situated in and around the city. As many as 3600 temples are present. Apart from being a centre of importance in terms of religion, this place is also a business hub.
The northern region of Bhiwani is composed of the Alluvial Plains, the southern region is composed of Semi-desert like area and also portions of Aravali Range Mountains are present. In some of the portions, salty water can be found, whereas in some areas fresh water can also be found. The presence of the salty water is mainly due to the poor drainage system. The city was formed in the year 1972. As many as 442 numbers of villages forms the place. The area covered by Bhiwani is 5000 square kilometers. It is a popular tourist destination as well as a well liked religious centre.
In the book written by Abul Fazal named Ain-i-Akbari, the mention of Bhiwani was there. During the time of the Mughal Period also, this place was an important centre for business activities. A significant role was carried out by Bhiwani, during the time of Indian Independence. Several important and renowned leaders like Jawaharlal Nehru, Sarojini Naidu, Vallabhbahi Patel, Ghaffar Khan and many more made this place, a centre for all their speeches and activities.
PLACES TO SEE
Prithviraj ki Kutchery: The majestic Rajput ruler named Prithvi Raj Chauhan hosted his durbar in Prithviraj ki Kutchery, which is also a popular tourists spot. Baradari is the name given to this place.
Other Attractions: Many a number of intriguing places such as shrines of Lohar Pir and Khera Baba, historical locations such as a Harappan mound and tombs such as tomb of kings like Khetri, Todar Singh and many others are present here.

By rail: Bhiwani is very well linked with the other cities of the country via a good railway network.
By air: The nearest air terminal is located in Delhi.
