VIKRAMGAD

 Vikramgad is a serene location that is chosen by travellers to escape from the concrete jungles. Situated on the Manor - Jawhar road, in Thane district, this beautiful village is about 105kms from the metropolis Mumbai. Mumbaikars choose Vikramgad to spend their lazy weekends due to its close proximity to Mumbai.

Trekking route from Vikramgad to Bhupatgad through the Pinjal river valley offers a thrilling experience to the adventurists. Dabosa Waterfall : These gurgling waterfall falls from the height of about 300 feet. Lendri river is the source of this waterfall. Monsoon is the best season to visit this milky white beauty. This waterfall is magnificently flanked by green hills which is covered by medicinal plants.

Sunset Point (Dhanu Kamal) : This beautiful bow shaped valley is about is about a kilometre far from the centre of the city. This place offers stunning view of the setting sun in the lovely orange sky. The clear view of the Mahalakshmi mountain which is about 60km from Jawhar is obtained during sunset.

Hanuman Point : Katya Maruti Mandir is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. This beautiful temple is surrounded by thick forests. There is a 500 feet deep valley close to the temple which is called the Hanuman point. This point offers fabulous views of the Rising sun, Shahapur Maholi fort and Kasara ghat.

By Train : Vikramgad has a major railway station. Trains will be available from the towns and cities of Mumbai, Lavasa, Nasik, Manori, Solapur, Sindhudurg, Murud, Junnar, Jawhar, Panchgani, Pune and Baga. Frequent trains are also available to the major cities like Hyderabad and Kochi.  

By Bus : Many buses are available to Vikramgad. Govenment and private buses play from Mumbai, Thane, Pimpri, Pune, Nashik, Loni, Mahim and Bhinar to Vikramgad.

Vikramgad can be reached within 3hours from Mumbai by road.
