TRIMBAKESHWAR
The city of Trimbakeshwar about 28 kms from Nasik is famed for scores of temples and holy places. This pious place is the abode of one of the twelve Jyotirlingas. Trimbakeshwar stands on the banks of the pious Godavari and is magnificently flanked by the lofty peaks of Bhramagiri.
Trimbakeshwar has gained utmost importance as a Hindu Pilgrimage centre. The sacred Godavari River takes birth in this holy city, According to the Hindu mythology Lord Ganesh had his birth at Tri Sandhya Gayithri. People from many parts of India come here to perform Shraddh/ pay their last respects to their near and dear ones and believe that the dead will attain salvation and make a direct entry to the heaven.
The stunning glory of this city is the Trimbakeshwar temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. This temple has gained importance as one of the Jyotirlinga temple. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes and lush greenery this ancient temple stands at the foot of the Bhramagiri hills from where the 3 branches of the river Godavari originate. The amazing feature of this temple is that the Jyotirlinga is made up of three faces clearly indicating Lord Bhrama, Lord Vishnu and Lord Maheshwara. The crown of the Jyotirlinga is beautifully embedded with the precious stones and diamonds. Beautifully constructed with black stone this temple with beautiful carvings and structures reminds the visitor of the artistic excellence of the by-gone generation.
Kusavarta, a holy pond from where River Godavari originates is a famous spot for the devotees to take a dip and get rid of their sins. Kedareshwar temple is another famous devotional centre.
Apart from being a prime pilgrimage centre for the Hindus this place dazes the tourists with its impressive scenery of lofty peaks, lustrous valleys, milky river and magnificent cascades.

Kedareshwar Temple: This temple located at Kushavarta is dedicated to Lord Kedareshwar, one of the incarnations of Lord Shiva. In history it is believed that Lord Shiva came down to the earth to protect his devotee, sage Goutama from the fault of killing the holy cow.
RamLakshman Teertha : In history it is said that Shraddha of King Dasharath was performed here by Lord Rama and Lakshman.
