Kawardha

Kawardha is situated on the rim of the picturesque Maikal Hill Range. The renowned Kanha National Park is situated on the south east direction of Kawardha. It is a small town yet blooms with the luxurious beauty of the nature along with its unusual customs and traditions. 

The bigger portion of the native crowd is made up of two tribal groups namely the Gond and the Baiga. The dwelling place of these two tribes is located to the south direction of Jabalpur amongst the thick and dense forest region.

Kawardha Palace: During ones trip to Kawardha, one can visit the Kawardha Palace.

Shiva Bhoramdeo Temples: The existence of these temples can be traced back to the time period of 11th century AD. These structures are located at a distance of 18 Kms from Kawardha. The images of local Gods and Goddess and the intricate beautiful carvings on stone make these temples famous.

The Saroda Reservoir: This place is basically a man-made lake, which is situated at a distance of 12 Kms from Kawardha. One can carry out fun activities such as fishing and boating.

Radha Krishna Temple: The existence of this renowned temple can be traced back to the time period of 19th century. There are some rooms present which are underground rooms and also a sacred water tank is there close to this temple. The name of the sacred lake is Ujiya Sagar.

Sahaspur Wildlife Sanctuary: For the people, who are an ardent lover of the nature and wildlife, Sahaspur Wildlife Sanctuary offers the perfect location to be. It is situated at a distance of 21 Kms from Kawardha. Animals such as leopards, sloth bears, cheetah, jackals, jungle cats, etc. can be seen in this sanctuary.

By Air: The closest air terminal to Kawardha is located in Raipur. The distance between Raipur and Kawardha is 140 Kms.

By Rail: Two of the principal railway stations located closest to Kawardha are the Raipur Railway Station and the Bilaspur Railway Station.

Road: Frequent buses connect Kawardha to many locations via road.
