One of the least trodden hamlets in West Bengal, Bankura is a stunning offbeat tourists destination. It is located far from the din of the society. Places to visit in Bankura

The place is dotted by number of sightseeing destination such as sacred hills, temples and handicrafts that attracts thousands of tourists every year.

Siddeswar Temple- it is an example of thousands year old architecture built with a tower. The marvelous work of the temple is something worth seeing by all. It is surrounded by Susunia Hill, which is the second largest hill of the district and also an ideal place for trekking or rock climbing. The prime attraction of this place after its architectural work and trekking is the Natural Spring.

Koro Hill- it is just 19km away from Bankura. This has a temple of Goddess Savitri. It also has Badrinath hill that is an age old Jainism centre, and also the house of exclusive flora.

Mukutmanipur- it is the second largest earthen dam of India. This dam is at the confluence of River Kumari and Kangsabati.  The place is quite renowned for its astounding and amazing natural beauty. Lots of tourists visit the place the place every year.

Jhilmili- it is a natural forest that is just few km away from Bankura. It has different species of flora and fauna. The ideal time to visit the place is in the time of autumn or spring. The tourists can have a glimpse of different unique animals and flowers.  

How to reach Bankura

Kolkata is the nearest Airport of Bankura. It takes around 4hrs approx to reach Bankura. Taxi or cab is always available from the Airport.

By TRAIN

Howrah or Sealdah is nearest rail head of Bankura. It takes few hours to reach Bankura from the station in taxi or cab.

By BUS

Regular bus services are available from all the parts of West Bengal. As Bankura is quite famous, therefore buses are easily accessible from any part of the state.

          October-January has a moderate temperature and has pleasant weather. Therefore it is best to visit the place during these months.
