OverView of Saloh Beri
Village Saloh Beri is a tiny village in the district of Una
in Himachal Pradesh. Its geographical location is that in the South-East
village Joh is located, in the North is village Kanpur and in the West
Bhavnaour village of Punjab. It is the border village of district Una and after
that district Kangra starts. It is surrounded by greenaries.
Population consists of Brahmins, Rajputs,
Carpanters, Kabirpanthies and Harijans. Inhabitants of this village depend on
agriculture. Majority of the people is Rajputs. They are brave and generally
doing farming, and prefer service in the military. Total population of the
village is approximately 1000 to 2000 persons.
The village is vastly known for its Jatadharni
or Kalmawali Matta Mandir. This Mandir is located at the steep peak of a hill.
There is a big Bhandara and Jagran on the first Tuesday of Navratra( March or
April) in each year. People from far and flung areas attend the Bandara
and Jagran at night.
Secondly, it is widely known for
Ghati-Wale-Babaji Mandir. The name of Babaji was Shri Hans Raj ji. His main
sathan is near Pong Dam. But, this Babaji belonged to village Saloh Beri. His
followers have built a big Mandir in the village Saloh Beri. Every year, on 24th of July, there is a big Bhandara. People
participated in this Bhandara from far and flung areas. Inhabitants of this
village and nearby villages have a blind faith in the Samadhi of this Babaji.
In the village there are 3-4 water Baulis whose water never ended. Water of other wells dries but never of these Baulis. The water is continuously coming from mountain and going. This process I am seeing for the last 65 years. When this process started nobody knows.
