OverView of Dimmi
Dimmi is located about 15 Km from Hamirpur towards East. This small and beautiful village has a history of joining the Army for valour and sacrifice being dominated by Rajputs such as Rana, Pathania, Dhulia and Kathiania etc. With the advent of education and other fields of employment, the young generation of this village joined education department, other Govt departments such as electricity. The young generation has been further mobilised by Dr DS Rana and Col KM Singh and Lt Col RC Dhulia to excel in other fields and motivated them to become as leaders.
Village as on date have doctors, engineers, Army Officers and educationist. The beautiful aspect of this village is Army culture wherein during the marriages and other collective functions the introduction is made with the ranks held in the Army with their decoration.
Water supply to the village is from water project Mahal. Dr DS Rana and Col KM Singh had started a small hospital and Kiosk which is providing yomen service to the village.
Maj Chet Ram was the first commissioned officer of the village and still the younger generation is following his foot steps. Daughter-in-law of Maj Chet Ram is providing excellent Gynae service to the village as she is running a hospital near dou-sarka on the way to Bhota from Hamirpur. Sub/Maj Kanshi Ram (H/Capt) of 3 Dogra Regt was on the best instructor of NDA Kharkwasla whose trained Cadets have retired as on date as Lt Gens.
I wish that Govt should provide facilities such as roads, electricity, water and improvement of internal and link path in seven small villages of Dimmi with solar light systems so that this complete village becomes an ideal village of Hamirpur.
