The state of Haryana is composed of 21 districts, out of which Faridabad District is one. The administrative headquarters of the district is located in the Faridabad City. Through the heart of the district, the Delhi-Mathura National Highway No.2 Shershah Suri Marg goes by. Faridabad tops the chart of the district of Haryana having the maximum number of inhabitants in the year 2011. The district is surrounded on the north by Delhi, which is the capital city of India and also a Union Territory, on the west by the district of Gurgaon, and on the east and south direction by the state of Uttar Pradesh. On the Northern Central Railways Delhi-Mathura dual track broad-gauge line, numerous stations are situated in the city. Old Faridabad and New Industrial Township are two of the principal railway stations.

Haryanas biggest city in terms of area is Faridabad. It is also one of Haryanas important business and manufacturing centre. 60 percent of the income produced in the state is done in Faridabad. Also, the states 50 income percent tax is paid by the people in Faridabad and Gurgaon. One of the most popular manufactured from the agricultural segment is the Heena. Renowned industrial items manufactured here in the city are tractors, motorcycles, switch gears, refrigerators, shoes and tyres. Faridabad and Ballabgarh are the two sub-divisions, which are created for smoothing out the functions of civil administration of Faridabad District. A Sub Divisional Magistrate controls each of these two sub-divisions. Basic civic facilities are given to the people who reside in the city of Faridabad, by the Municipal Corporation of Faridabad. The recently constructed Palwal District contains Palwal, Hodal and Hathin Sub-divisions.

Faridabad History

Sheikh Farid established Faridabad, located in the south-eastern part of Haryana, I 1607 AD. He is also recognized by many names such as Baba Farid, treasurer of Jahangir and a Sufi saint. In order to guard the Grand Trunk Road which passes through the town, this place was constructed by him. A fort, a tank and a mosque were constructed by him, which now have turned into rubbles. The Ballabgarh ruler kept a Pargana in jagir, of which this place was the headquarters. On 15th August 1979, the 12th district of Haryana, which is Faridabad District, was constructed. Some portions of the Gurgaon District were taken and the district of Faridabad was thus created. In 1950, little amount progress in the industrial sector had been made to commence here, as a part of Pakistani Refugee Resettlement Project. In this way, the existing day Faridabads early infrastructures were put down by the refugees.

Faridabad Climate

Tropical steppes, semiarid and hot are the three major climatic divisions of Faridabad district. Apart from the monsoon season the weather is marked by severe dryness of the air.

From the time period of end June to September, which are the months of south-west monsoon, excessive humidity prevails in this place due to the diffusion of damp air from the ocean. Also due to this reason the sky gets covered in clouds and precipitation occurs. The post monsoon season is composed of the months from October to December. Months between January and March beginning are the winter months. The hot summer months trails the winter season lasting till end of June. 542 mm is the average yearly precipitation, occurring for a time period of 27 days. The end of June sees the advent of the southwest monsoon. Near the last of September, the southwest monsoon retrieves. 85 percent of the yearly precipitation is supplied by this monsoon. The months receiving maximum amount of rainfall are June and August. Due to thunder storms and western turbulences, 15 percent of the precipitation takes place in the time period of the months of non-monsoon season.
