Tezpur is another scenic town and adds the beauty of the state Assam. It belongs to the district Sonitpur. This beautiful ancient city is located on the banks of River Brahmaputra. It holds the pride of being one of the largest cities in Assam. There are some interesting places to visit in Tezpur. One can find many ruins throughout this city. To the astonishment, some of the ruins are belongs to 8th century. The Da Parbatia ruins are standing as living testimony of the architectural abilities of India during 4th century. Visitors can even get a glimpse of rock inscriptions belongs to 9th century. Hazara Pukhuri is another good destination. This is the huge pond excavated by Hajjar Varma.
