Tezpur
Tezpur is another scenic town and adds the beauty of the state Assam. It belongs to the district Sonitpur. This beautiful ancient city is located on the banks of River Brahmaputra. It holds the pride of being one of the largest cities in Assam. There are some interesting places to visit in Tezpur. One can find many ruins throughout this city. To the astonishment, some of the ruins are belongs to 8th century. The Da Parbatia ruins are standing as living testimony of the architectural abilities of India during 4th century. Visitors can even get a glimpse of rock inscriptions belongs to 9th century. Hazara Pukhuri is another good destination. This is the huge pond excavated by Hajjar Varma. Other interesting places are Agnigarh Hill, Shiva Temple, Bamuni Pahar, Rudrapath, Cole Park and Bhairabi Temple.

Agnigarh
It is the fire fort and one of the most favorite tourist spot in Assam. It derived its name as it was always covered with fire to avoid entry of enemies. The fort is associated with the interesting romance of Prince Aniruddha and Princess Usha.
Bhairabi Temple
It is dedicated to goddess Durga and was constructed across the river Brahmaputra. The famous Bamini hills are located near to this temple.
Other Places
Bura-Chapori wildlife sanctuary, Nameri National Park, Bamuni hills, Cole Park and Kaila Bhomora Setu.
