Machelipatnam
A famous port town located near the Bay of bengal in Krishna district of Andra pradesh. Once it was a flourishing seaport during 17th century and one of the first European settlement of India. Proud Machelipatnam is well known for its kalahasti decorations and kalamkari textiles. It is a beach town, tourists can enjoy the beauty of these beaches which are still unexplored and remain in a pristine state. It is saturated with numerous temples in and around. Machelipatnam is commonly expressed as Masula, Bandar and Masulipatnam lies along the coromandel coast of India at a distance of 350 km from Hyderabad and 65 km from vijayawada. It has rich historical background. It is the precious record of ancient India which has prosperous trading and business which attracts foreign invasions. Some earlier legends claims that the name of this town is coined after the gateway was decorated with eyes of fish or 'Machili'.

The Panduranga Swamy Temple: The hotspot of Machelipatnam, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. The idol of Lord Krishna, measuring 3 feet is adorned with amazing diamond studded crown and finely decorated ornaments. Many festivals are grandly celebrated in this temple and attracts many devotees and tourists. It houses many small temples in which temple of Radha, Rukmini and Sathyababa is famous among devotees. One should not be miss this temple while visiting Machelipatnam.
Manginapudi Beach: It is fantastic seaside fishing village located at a distance of 11 km from Machelipatnam. The black soil and shallow bay water are the characteristic features of Manginapudi Beach. School of Kuchipudi dance located at the beach side made the journey more joyful. Dip in the sea during festival time is considered holy and divine.
Other Places: Machelipatnam church, which is buily by an English Man during 19th century, Sri Maharaj Devalayam- a shrine house of Sri Saibaba, Dattashram- famous pilgrimage dedicate to Lord Shiva, Shivaganga, Sri Nageshwara swamy temple, Ghantasala and palletalapalem beach are the worth visiting destinations.

Weather: Average temperature ranges from 20 to 29 degree Celsius throughout the year. It may fall as low as 15 degree Celsius in Winter. Best visited from October to February.
