Gokarna

Places to visit
Mahabaleshwara Temple
It is a temple devoted to Lord Shiva, often expressed as Kashi of south . Death rites of departed ancestors are performed here. Mahashivrathri is the major festival celebrated with great pomp and show.
Om Beach
It is the top rated beach amongst the five beaches of Gokarna. The shape of the beach is resembles the auspicious Om sign of Hindus. There are more water fun activities including surfing and skiing to anjiy here.
Other Beaches
Paradise beach –It is a small and less known beach and an ideal place for swimming. Kokarna beach- it is very close to Gokarna town. It offers an excellent panoramic views of the sea banks. Half Moon beach – Half Moon and Om beach are separated by a rock where an interesting rock climbing can be enjoyed by tourists. It is perfect beach to enjoy volley ball, canoes, cabins, paintball, paddle boats and camping.

Major rail head is in Ankola about 20 km away from Gokarna.
