It is a famed mountain region where the original source of majestic River Cauvery is situated. It is belongs to Kodagu district of Karnataka. The meaning of Talacauvery is ‘Head of Cauvery’. It is sacred pilgrim center of Hindus and it is situated in the Brahmagiri hills at an altitude of 1,276 meters from sea level. One can find a pond here where the source of River Cauvery is believed to be originated. There is also a small temple nearby which is dedicated to Lord Agastheeswara. The entire region is flocked by devotees and visitors throughput the year. One can hear many legendary stories associated with this temple. Ablution in this Talacauvery is considered very auspicious and sacred. It is believed that the water will purify the human and relieves from sin. There are many more temples n and around this region. The confluence place of three Rivers namely Cauvery, Kanake and Sujyoti is called Bhagamandala which is another tourist attraction.
