Janjgir Champa
The district of Janjgir-Champa is located right in the middle of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh. It is a place of much historical significance. This location used to serve as the capital for the Maharaja Jajawalya Dev of the much renowned Kulchury Dynasty. The presence of the ornamented temples and the picturesque terrains make this district quite famous.
Mainly tribal group of people inhabits this place. The dwellers have their own kind of Gods and Goddesses and follow religion and superstitions in an intense manner. Tattoos are a popular item among the females in the villages and that is their primary ornaments.

PLACES TO SEE IN JANJGIR CHAMPA
Vishnu Mandir, Janjgir: The King named Hayhay Vansh constructed the Vishnu Mandir during the time period of 12th century. It is situated close to the Bhima Talab of Purani Basti of Janjgir. The building of the temple took place in two portions, in order to make one complete temple; however the two distinct portions were not put together in the right time and as a consequence, the two distinct portions of the temple are standing independently. Till date, the temple remains incomplete. The name ‘Nakata Madir’ has been given to this temple by the inhabitants of the place.
Adbhar (Devi Temple): This temple houses the statue of Goddess Devi, who has eight numbers of hands. During the celebrations of Navratri, the lighting of Jyoti Kalash takes place.
Madanpurgarh (Devi Mandir): On the bed of the river named Hasdeo, another temple called the Devi Mandir is located.
Pithampur (Shiv Mandir): On the bed of the river named Hasdeo, this temple dedicated to the Lord Shiva, is located. Kaleshwarnath Mandir is another named by which this temple is called. During the celebrations of the Maha Shivratri and Rang Panchami, this place hosts a fate and a fair, which continue for as many as 10 days.
Ghatadai (Paharia) (Tripur Singar Devi): Encircled by enchanting lush forests, the majestic mountains and wonderful beauty of the nature, this place contains a temple dedicated to Tripur Sundar Devi.
Turridham (Shiv Temple): Turridham is the name by which the temple of Shiva is called here. Each year, a fair, continuing for three days, is hosted here during the time of Maha Shivratri.
Kanhara: This place is located on the beds of the river named Lilagar. The location is encircled by enchanting lush forests and wonderful beauty of the nature.
Dewar Ghata: This is the place, where the three rivers namely Mahanadi, Lilagar and Shivnath converge at one point. It is a great location for carrying out picnics.
Damudhara (Rishabthirth): A great location for the tourists, this place contains waterfalls of natural origin, intriguing caves, the temple of Ram-Janki, the temple of Krishan, Rishavdev Temple and many more interesting places.
Laxmaneshwar Temple, Kharaud: As per the mythical stories relate to the Hindu religion, Laxman, who was the younger brother of Bhagwan Ram, constructed the Shiv temple. Thus the name of the temple has been given the name, Laxmneshwar Temple.
Shivarinarayan Temple: The construction of the temple of Laxminarayan took place during the time period of 11th century. The King named Hayhay Vansh constructed this temple on the beds of the river named Mahanadi at Shivarinarayan Nagar. As per the mythical stories belonging to the Hindu religion, the existence of this temple can be traced back to the time of the Ramayana shabri aasharma. A grandiose and magnificent fate is hosted here during the time of Magh Purnima.
Chandrahasini Temple: On the beds of the river named Mahanadi, the temple of Chandrahasini Devi is located. On the eve of the festival of Navratri, this place hosts a large fair or fate each year. This place is quite popular among the visitors and many a number of people come here to visit this temple.
