Welcome ! My village old name was kottalam after its became malai kottalam. In my village Mountain, River and Temple was there. The name of Mountain is kovarthanakiri. name of River is komuki. name of the God is komalishwarar(Shiva temple) wife name is kokilambal. Vishnu temple name of the God is kobalakrishnan (build in king Pandiyan century). In my village name itself famous because name of village, Mountain, River and God is starts from Ko .History of Mountain .you may heard this name in Mahabaratham kovarthanan. story behind this once a time draught comes in village then people become too poor. their expecting rain to come but is didn't. At the time lord Krishna come and he said pray kovarthanan (Mountain) he will give rain then the people start pray the lord kovarthanan at time lord of varunan (Rain God) got angry and he gave too much of Rain then Flooding happen in village all people in village lost their home then they goes lord Krishna and told after lord Krishna lifted the kovarthanakiri Mountain in single finger (small finger) and all the people & animals gone bottom of Mountain and saved. I didn't know whether it's true or false this type of Rumour is going on in my village.
History of village. My village came before 500 or 1000 years back ( assumption) at the time it was there in opposite to lake wall .Now where we are living that place is shifted from there.still it has proof if any archaeologist came in my village they can find many historical things.
Reason told by grandma why we shifted from there.Once a Time Brahmin girl was there in my village. her name was vembi. she was very powerful women and Rich . she did love marriage so that the village people hated her .she gone to his husband home and she stayed there after some days her mother in-law told her son to buy beef but the son is not willing to buy because his wife was Brahmin but his mother requesting son to buy only once then he purchased gave to his mom .his mother was made beef chilly he kept some amount beef for her son. after sometime husband and wife came to home. Vembi was open the plate and took one piece chilly asked her mother in-law what is this suddenly mother in-law told cow tongue vembi was throwed the chilly away and she too much of crying and she went out from home after she reached her father home she crying and telling to father .please forgive me father without knowing about him i married here after I won't go with him and his home. please accept me. she crying so much and begging her father atlost she asked her father if your not accepting me I will die. Her father told go and die. don't come to me I won't accept thalith( low cast) wife.she got to much angry and she went out and she died in front of lord Kali temple. After her death village people will not allow her body to burn in high cast graveyard.she was burned in low cast graveyard. After her spirit comes with angry it's goes all the house in the village. The village people all are afraid and escaped from their homes after some days the whole village was evacuated both side of people ( high and low cast) left their home and many people was died.after a long years ago new people came this village where we staying now they build the temple for her in the place of where she was burned and they named lord vembi Amman temple.
In every five years we are conducting festival for vembi Amman if you came the festival time my village people( grandma) will say her story.it is a very famous and wonderful festival you ever seen like this awesome. At the time of festival all round my village people will comes my village this is a big festival in my village at most one month their conducting this festival at the time festival all pragnent and prieds lady will goes their relative home nobody will present in this festival. that much powerful God in my village. Still nobody has dare to go that temple alone.if you came to my village and ask about vembi Amman with fear they will say many story about lord vembiyaiy.
