This village is very old , even it is older than foundation of udaipur , it was founded very early (aprox 2000 B.C) this village faced many attacks from many forign races . this village entially founded at nearby a river near to aravali vally . later on rular of sisodiya dyansity(Rana fatheh Singh) got constructed one dam for . water supply to fatheh sagar .. and this village was shifted from original place to near by place . stiill the remains of old village can be seen when water level of the dam goes low .
this village was part of patan kingdom (patan nagari ) whos remains can be found still in near by villages like nadeshma , padrada . nagada and ayad , can be said it was part of tambavati nagari (ayad civilization).
this villge was intialy donated by kings to decendents of teela ji ( a vaishnav saint of ramanandi sampradaya from jaipur ) still decendents of the same genration dwells in madar village . ) decendents of teelaji are known as teelawat and they all use surname as vaishnav/bairagi Brahmin . still worship the main temple of the village .however main branch of teelawat was shree 108 Ganesh das who was elder son of saint chatrabhuj das , left the village due to family conflict and migrated to village known as vishma which is approx 50 k.m far away from madar near to sayara and ranakpur).later on childerns of Ganesh Das ,s youger Brother (saint Ganga das )captured the property belonged to saint Ganesh Das .
now this village is expanding and has started taking urban flavour . it is just 15 k.m far away from udaipur city .
