"DOIDAM VILLAGE" Doidam village is an very old village."Doi" means The God,that's why the meaning of Doidam is the place of God.People who lives in Doidam they are Nocte. There are Thingnok,Ngongwa,Songthing,Moithak,Moika,Moidam,Namaty,this are the surnames of the people of the Doidam Village.Another way to called God is "RANG O"(it's an traditional way to called the God).
Tejong Thingnok is the king of the village,he is an good king and nice man.We the people of the village also celebrate our fesitival and we commonly called it "Loku".We celebrate this "Loku"during the winter season on the month of November and the date is not fixed for every year.On that day we pray our God particularly in a clean and holy place of our village,in our own language we called that place"Saa-chaam",where mens are only allowed to go to that place and they sacrifice animals to make the God happy,where King will be also their because King is the head of the village and we have to make him happy on that holy day.
And after that the whole boys and girls of the village also gather and they go to almost every house of the village and they dance in every house and that dance is based on the village traditional dance form and this occasion is continue for three days.
