for its beauty, situated beside the sea. For those looking to stay, there is a

trees, and boating is available for visitors.
The residents of Jeerupalem rely heavily on the
sea for their livelihood, primarily catching fish and selling them in
surrounding areas such as Ranasthalam, Srikakulam, and Visakhapatnam.
Jeerupalem gained independence in 1991 from the influence of the Naidu family,
who lived 3 kilometers away, under the leadership of former Vice MPP Dummu
Ashok, MPTC M. Kamaraju, the late lawyer Lakshmanudu, and other prominent
community leaders. Since 2009, the village has seen significant development
under the leadership of President Badi. Chinaramulu and MPTC M. Kamaraju. After
2014, Jeerupalem benefited from improved roads, the establishment of the NTR
Colony (part of the Hudhud housing initiative), gas connections, and a
house-to-house water supply system, all under the guidance of Vice MPP Dummu
Ashok.
In the past, fishing was the main occupation
starting at the age of 12, but now the village places greater emphasis on
education. Currently, there are about 10 government employees, 40 private employees,
and 20 businessman’s who generate approximately one crore in annual revenue
from the village. Jeerupalem shares a close relationship with Jagannadhapuram,
with no formal border separating them, and they are often collectively referred
to as "Chinnuru and Pedhuru Panchayat Jeerupalem."
The village has a literacy percentage of 40.07%,
compared to Andhra Pradesh's average of 67.02%. Male literacy stands at 45.59%,
while female literacy is 34.50%. Some of the villagers travel to Veraval
(Somnath) in Gujarat for fishing jobs on a salary basis, starting as young as
15 years old. Many from Jeerupalem venture near the Pakistan border for
fishing, where some have been captured by the Pakistan Coast Guards.
Jeerupalem is located just 100 meters from the
Bay of Bengal, with the east and south sides bordered by the sea and the north
and west sides covered with coconut trees. The nearby Badrakali Ammavari Temple
is famous and is a key landmark. Essential goods can be found just 12
kilometers away, with the nearest railway station located in Vizianagaram, 28
