OverView of Herejamburu
Hirejamburu is a village is occupied and surrounded with temples and lakes, It is famous for it's lake named "Dodd kere" and huge areca plantation.The village history is mainly noticed from the 12th century due to the shiva sharanas era and it's a born and brought up place of "Shiva sharane Sathyakka".
According to the villagers and history, this place is visited by lord Shiva, he visited to see sathyakka and her devotion towards him, at the end of his visit he walked on the streets with joy and happiness and suddenly disappeared on Lake bund and later appeared in the form of shiva linga (lingam) and now that place is called as mallappa temple.
One more most notable incident happened in the village is that once a Brahmin pandith challenged the sathyakka to read his scripts and mantras which are written in Sanskrit and sathyakka got angry with his attitude and she let her pet dog named "javali" to read that script and later the dog got cursed to become a stone by Brahmin padint, till the date people are showing devotion towards "javali" and this made the village a different place where people show devotion on a dog.
If we see from the history, this Village is identified from the age of hoysalas as "agrahaara jamburu" and ruled byfew kings as names not suggested here.
In the recent times the village is reformed with its culture, education and politics.
The village is surrounded with areca plantation and maize cultivation and areca is the main source of income for villagers, the villagers culture and tradition is enhanced with beautiful and busiest rainy season and free summer season.
Hirejamburu and its people are blessed with the god and goddess of the village named anjaneya, sathyakka, Veera bhadreswara, durga, mathangi, chowdi, bhootha, jakkeswara, kaala bairava and ranganaatha.
